For a band who've never been away, STRAY have made a spectacular comeback!

After the recent albums, 10 and LIVE - IN YER FACE, which both received excellent reviews, the current line-up of STUART UREN, KARL RANDALL and of course founder-member DEL BROMHAM are out on the road once more.

For the loyal, long-term STRAY fans, this has been a welcome return to the front line, but STRAY find they are picking up an additional following - a new generation of fans who appreciate good, solid, well-written, well-played songs, performed with that special spark that is only ignited when you get a band who are completely at ease musically with each other, and who know their trade through and through. It's no-nonsense entertainment (but you always feel there is bit of nonsense never far away!)

STRAY made their mark in the late 60s by owning lighting rigs, pyrotechnics and transport in a time when most bands were content to just get up onstage and play. STRAY dated back to 1966 when teenagers vocalist Steve Gadd, guitarist Del Bromham, bass player Gary Giles and drummer Steve Crutchley formed the band whilst all were attending the local Christopher Wren School in London.

At this point the average age of STRAY members was 14. Steve Crutchley quit to pursue traditional Jazz and was duly replaced by Richie Cole as STRAY became regulars on the London club circuit, performing at such venues as Shepherds Bush Goldhawk Club and Covent Garden's Middle Earth.

It's worth noting that no less an act than IRON MAIDEN covered the STRAY track 'All In Your Mind' as the B side to the 'Holy Smoke' single. STRAY would be announced as the special guests to veteran Rockers MOUNTAIN on their Spring 2002 UK tour.
